DESCRIPTION:

The installation we produced for O-Ku Nashville is a composition of low relief architectural surfaces that are printed with over-scaled, marbleized designs. The marbled rings, reminiscent of tree rings, are pulled from papers we marbled using the Japanese Suminagashi method. The juxtaposition of the organic textures with their minimal frameworks speaks to tenets of Japanese design and to the experience of fine dining itself.
